Welcome to the Duck Conference on Social Cognition

The Duck Conference on Social Cognition is a prestigious invitational conference held annually near the village of Duck on the outer banks of North Carolina.  Around 25 people are invited to attend each year to present papers and to discuss social cognition with other researchers.

The Duck Conference was begun in 1987 by a group of distinguished social psychologists with the objective of bringing together junior and senior social cognition researchers in an intimate and informal atmosphere with organization, activities, expenses and labor shared among participants. The conference has no formal institutional sponsorship or affiliation.

In recent years, the Duck Conference has been organized by Professor Don Carlston of Purdue University.  Contact information for Prof. Carlston (also referred to herein as the "Organizer" or the "Head Duck") can be obtained by clicking "Contact Information" on the menu above.

General information about the Duck Conference is provided in the public areas of this web site.  Those who have attended the Duck Conference in the past, or are scheduled to attend this year, may find additional information by accessing the two password protected areas listed at the bottom of the menu.
